Chinese New Year II
29 January 2006, Sunday
Went to my maternal grandmother's house for lunch. The only red packet I received from my mother's side was by Uncle Ernie. My mother gave me and my sister red packets that morning too, somehow to make it up for the money we wouldn't be getting this year. When Uncle Ernie gave us the red packets, I asked him, 'Can give meh?'. He said it's empty. Haha, of course it wasn't. Cold joke. And I didn't take one from Uncle Gary. He only gave those who wished him Happy New Year. What the hell! So stingy. Grrrrr, I'm money-minded you know. Then after that we booked 15 tickets for 'I Not Stupid'. Uncle William drove Weiying, Weijing, Weiyi, Weihui, Emily, Christel and I to Century Square and then back to my grandmother's house to fetch the second batch. Eight people in the car, specifically a 5-seater car! Squeeeeeezed hell lot. Weiyi sat on my lap, Weihui on Weijing's, Christel on Emily's. Nevertheless, squeezing was fun! Thanks to Uncle William for the sacrifice he made, his tyres probably won't last long? Haha! It was rather early when we reached so we went to Swensens to have ice-cream, duh. I had Merry Mint, or whatever.
Yeah, met the rest outside the theatre and watch the movie. Oh my gawd, 'I Not Stupid Too' was very touching and hilarious, I didn't like those animations anyway.
Weihui sat beside me, she was tearing away when Cheng Cai's father was going to die. The principal and chinese teacher assured him that he'd be discharged after one or two days. And the next scene was his photograph at the funeral. At that moment Weihui laughed like nobody's business. Contradiction, right? I think I heard Weiyi sniffing and I saw my grandmother sleeping!
After the movie, those who had EZ link cards took the bus while those who didn't squeeeeeeeezed in Uncle William's car. I sat on my mother's lap this time round and I had to hunch. Really bad for the spine (or backbone or something, ah whatever), you know. We went to Aunt Grace's house for dinner, had lots of CNY goodies. The atmosphere there wasn't really very high, we just watched the television, ate, and all that stuff. Aunt Lillian's family went home pretty early. My mother, Aunt Grace and Weiying played Mahjong while me and Weihui played with the cards. I defintely have slow reaction ability 'cause most of the times Weihui shouted 'Stress!' first and the one and only time I shouted 'Stress!' and successfully won was when Weihui was not paying attention to the game. I lost some four bucks, eeek. In the past, during CNY the cousins and some adults would always gamble with us. But now they don't even touch the cards 'cause they're oh-so-holy. We're talking about cents and dollars in gambling, not hundreds and thousands, what for the uptightness? And in the past few years the cousins would always coop up in my grandmother's room and count our money, compare, joke etc, now we don't. Probably it's because we don't really have any money this year, oh wells. But anyway, my family went home nearly past midnight. CNY just isn't so right this year. Maybe he ain't there with us.

Today, went to eat popiah with some of my paternal aunts, grandmother, and Andy (plus his maid). My aunts gave me and my sister red packets, but I still haven't got to see a lot of my other paternal relatives because we shouldn't go to other's houses. That equates to low income for me. My current red packet money is like, one-third of last years. But, money isn't everything, right? Can't hide the fact that I'm heartbroken though! I'm going to put my money in the bank, I should save for my future. So mature right, nanny nanny poo poo. But I've put aside a teeeeeny weeeeeny bit of money for Christmas Fund '06! Okay, it's just January and I'm thinking about something in December. Anyway, Emily should really draw a logo or something, for the Christmas Fund, I mean.
I don't wanna go back to school.

You can get fined if you're caught having 8 people in a 5-seater car!
But I guess your uncle decided that he could use his ang bao money to pay the fines so it's alright :P
I've moved.. Because Blogger has been screwing up on me. LiveJournal is a better choice for me! ^_^ cya around
